Modernizing Georgia’s Laws: New Mission as Vice Chair of the Code Revision Committee

January 19, 20251 min read

"By updating Georgia’s code, we take critical steps to modernize our laws, ensuring they reflect the realities of today while improving and clarifying the rule of law for our state."
- Representative Jordan Ridley

During the first week of the 2025-2026 session, I was appointed to two impactful positions in the Georgia House of Representatives. The House Committee on Assignments recently named me Vice Chairman of the House Code Revision Committee and Secretary of the House Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications Committee.

In my new role as Vice Chair of the Code Revision Committee, I will focus on modernizing Georgia’s legal code to better reflect today’s realities. By updating Georgia’s code, we take critical steps to ensure our laws are clear, effective, and relevant to the needs of its citizens.

The Code Revision Committee plays a vital role in ensuring the state’s statutes are up-to-date by correcting technical errors, modernizing language, and repealing outdated or unconstitutional laws. I look forward to collaborating closely with committee members and leadership to improve Georgia’s legal framework.

I remain fully committed to legislative excellence and to growing my influence in shaping Georgia’s policies. Comments, ideas, and suggestions are always welcome. Contact me here.
