I'd like to start by extending a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the February 11th Town Hall at the BridgeMill Fire Station Community Room! It was truly inspiring to see such an engaged and passionate crowd come together to share ideas and discuss important issues affecting Cherokee County.
We covered a range of topics, including the proposed Tort Reform legislation, school safety, growth, zoning and taxes. Closer to home, Commissioner Carter addressed questions about the proposed HOST referendum (Homestead Option Sales Tax).
Your involvement and support mean so much. We appreciate your commitment to our community and look forward to continuing these conversations with you.

HB 163: MEAT ALTERNATIVES DISCLOSURE
We are making excellent progress on our lab grown meat transparency bill. House Bill 163 is on the consideration calendar by the House Rules Committee and hopefully will be voted on by the full House any day now. I will continue to keep you posted.

HB 446: PROTECTING DISCOVERY RIGHTS
Did you know that Georgia is the ONLY state that does not grant discovery rights to all parties in Public Service Commission cases?
I introduced House Bill 446 late last week to increase fairness and transparency in utility rate cases.

House Bill 75, aimed at updating Georgia’s animal protection laws, seeks to prevent unjust actions against responsible pet owners and their animals. ensure proper judicial oversight and notification when government agencies impound or euthanize domesticated animals.
